Glassblowing Matriculation Sequence
Glassblowing instruction in the weekend format is sequenced into six classes; three Beginning Classes (Beginning 1,2,3) and three Intermediate Classes (Intermediate 1,2,3).
In the 6-week format four classes are required: (Beginning 1&2 and Intermediate 1&2).
After successful completion of either sequience, students are eligible for sutdio rental, allowing access to the glassblowing studio in four-hour reserved time slots. An interview and studio audition are required.
Glassblowing
Learn the tools and techniques of the exciting medium of hot glassblowing through hands-on experience and demonstrations. Take your skills to amazing heights as you add teamwork and progress through shaping, working with color, and adding handles, feet, wraps and prunts.
Beadmaking
We teach you to shape, mold and decorate molten glass into beads through instruction, demonstrations and hands-on studio time. Just wait until you enter the world of wraps, stringers, tiwisties, powders, enamels, metal leafs and foils.
Fusing
Dive into the realm of kiln fused glass; you'll learn basic cutting, shaping, layering, design and assembly of compatible, colored, sheet glass and compatible metals; create a variety of bowls, ornaments, nightlights, sun catchers and other 2-D and 3-D pieces.
Casting
Design and form molds and pour in molten glass to make stand-alone pieces, creatiions for garden sculptures, or take our popular Spin to Win casting class using centrifugal force to make concave bowls. The possibilities are endless in this versatile medium.
